I decided to smooth out middle and backgrounds with some rubbing alcohol. I just learned you can use rubbing alcohol on prismacolored pencil work. I feel better now, ha!

When do I know when a painting is finished? When I can’t stand looking at it anymore, even though I know I can go a lot further with it. The painting looks good just as it is, I can leave it alone, it has stopped talking to me.

Faber Castell Color Pencils don’t layer very well. However, it’s been years since I worked with pencils seriously. I have only used Prismacolor pencils and they seemed softer, blended and layered easily. I need to buy some ASAP!!! This little study was fun.

Hands are very hard to draw. More practice needed, I haven’t tried to draw hands in over a decade. Now that I am drawing people I will be drawing many studies of hands.
